Maywood Police are still investigating a shooting that happened earlier this month, according to Chief Valdimir Talley. On March 3, at around 9 AM, DeAndre Harris, 25, of Chicago, was shot twice in front of 2031 S. 5th Ave.
“He was supposed to be visiting someone who lived in our town,” said Talley. “He pulled over and a car either followed him, or figured he was going to a certain location, and he was shot.”
Talley said Harris was struck in the shoulder and back. He was rushed to Loyola University Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition at the time of the incident.
No suspects are in custody at this time, although detectives are currently looking into the matter, police said. Anyone with information the shooting, or the suspect(s), should call detectives at (708) 450-4471. VFP
