During Active Weekend In Maywood, One Injured In Shooting, Family Displaced After Structure Fire

One man was injured in a shooting that took place over the weekend in Maywood, police say.

Terrance Ellison, 23, was walking on the 400 block of South 13th Avenue at around 10:29 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, when someone in an unidentified blue vehicle drove up to him and shots were fired, according to the police report.

Ellison was hit in the right leg. He was rushed to Loyola University Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition at the time of the incident. So far, police say, no one is in custody.

This case is currently under investigation. Anyone with any information on the shooting should contact investigators at (708) 450-4471.

A structure fire engulfed one Maywood home on Sunday, April 17, according to Maywood Fire Chief Craig Bronaugh.

The fire happened on the 1800 block of South 7th Avenue at around 3:30 p.m., according to reports. Bronaugh said it took firefighters roughly an hour to extinguish the blaze, which displaced the family who lived in the home. There were no injuries reported. VFP
