An Oakbrook Terrace man who had been sitting inside of a parked car on Sunday afternoon was shot to death, Maywood police said in a Jan. 10 Chicago Tribune report.

Rommell Harris, 20, was sitting in a car on the 400 block of 14th Ave. when another car drove up and fired multiple shots, Maywood police Lt. Dennis Diaz told the Tribune.

“Diaz said Harris, who was a passenger in the front seat, and his friends were parked outside the home of another friend,” the Tribune reports. “He said two other people sitting in the vehicle with Harris were not injured.”

Harris was rushed to Loyola University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 4:51 p.m. The Cook County medical examiner’s office ruled the death a homicide, the Tribune reports.

So far, police don’t have a motive for the shooting. They’re asking anyone with information about the case to call (708) 450-4470.
