The Maywood United Party has selected a replacement for first-term incumbent Trustee Mike Rogers, who had successfully made the ballot to run for a second term on the ticket until withdrawing his candidacy earlier this week.

Emanuel Wilder has filed his candidacy with the village clerk to replace Rogers. Wilder joins Tony Sanchez and Audrey Jaycox as the ticket’s trustee candidates.

Trustee Henderson Yarbrough, who served two terms as mayor from 2005 until 2013, is running as the ticket’s mayoral candidate. Former District 209 school board member Readith Ester is running as the ticket’s candidate for clerk.

According to his LinkedIn account, Wilder has served as chairman of the Maywood Board of Fire and Police Commission for over 11 years. Ester also serves on the commission.

For over 26 years, Wilder was a public service administrator with the Illinois Department of Public Health and a GED instructor for the City Colleges of Chicago for over three decades. VFP

  1. We welcome Emanuel to the Maywood United Party ticket with enthusiasm! Emanuel comes with a wealth of knowledge, education and already serves Maywood as the Chairman of the Police and Fire Commission – a very important position – (hire, fire and disciple law enforcement officers). His knowledge in this area I feel will be value added. Additionally, he’s an entrepreneur, a retired professional in the area of environmental health – an area in which communities like Maywood should always be paying attention to. Again, welcome Emanuel!
