According to an ABC 7 Chicago report, two people were killed in a hit-and-run crash that happened in the 1100 block of South 9th Avenue at around 3:40 a.m. on Tuesday.
“Eyewitnesses said the driver of a minivan took off running after she crashed into a cab that was pulling out of a driveway,” the report notes.
Siblings Martrail Shelton, 25, and Charlaine Shelton, 22, were the victims. Shelton, a People’s Cab driver, was reportedly picking up his sister from their parents’ home to take her to her job. Both were rushed to Loyola University Medical Center, the report notes.
“Police officers caught the minivan driver. She was taken into custody. As of 6 a.m. Tuesday, no charges had been filed.”
