Maywood Church to Celebrate Area’s Pastors During Feb. 19 ‘Black Tie Affair’

The rich religious history of Maywood and surrounding suburbs will get a night unto itself during a black tie affair hosted by Second Baptist Church.

The free event, called “We Stand Strong With Our Community,” coincides with the church’s month-long Black History Month observation. It will take place on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 436 S. 13th Ave. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the event will start at 5 p.m.

Rev. DeAndre Patterson, pastor of Miracle Revival, 2010 St. Charles Rd. in Maywood, will serve as the master of ceremonies. Music will be provided by a Community Mass Choir, and Tyrone Block and LSD.

Second Baptist Church’s pastor, Rev. Wallace W. Sykes, the oldest active pastor in Maywood, will receive special recognition, along with numerous other local pastors (both living and deceased, the latter is indicated with an asterisk):
