Maywood police carried out two raids on May 30 that resulted in the seizure of numerous semiautomatic guns and narcotics, and two arrests, according to a statement released by the department earlier this week.
On Tuesday, at around 5:20 a.m., the Maywood Police Tactical Unit, Maywood investigators and the Chicago Police Area North Gang Enforcement Unit entered the front door of 706 S. 6th Ave. in Maywood, according to the statement.
Donny Jamerson, 42, of Maywood — the target of the raid — was arrested and taken into custody. Authorities recovered 103 grams of cocaine, four ounces of cannabis and 4 semiautomatic handguns during the operation, police said.
The same day, at around 5:08 p.m., authorities from the Maywood tactical unit and the Cook County Sheriff’s department, arrived at 1301 S. 9th Ave., and rounded up several suspects who had been selling drugs to undercover police officers for the past several months, police said.
Police arrested Bobby Williams, 36, of Maywood, and four other people. They recovered an undisclosed amount of cocaine and a semiautomatic handgun, the police statement read. VFP
