The Taste of Bellwood is set to take place on the weekend of Aug. 5 and 6. The event will be held from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. each day. Recently elected Bellwood Mayor Andre Harvey announced plans to hold the first-ever Taste earlier this year.
Harvey said at the time that the event will essentially encompass the village’s annual Family Day Picnic, which it hosts each year in August, along with other features, including a beer and wine garden and a full tasting of local restaurant fare. The village also expects area high school bands and other musical acts to participate.
“We want to be more family oriented so we’re trying to do whatever we can to get our communities together,” Harvey said during an interview in June.
The event will take place on Washington Boulevard, between Eastern and 25th Avenues. The mayor said in June that the village plans to block off that entire strip of roadway while the fest is going on. VFP
