You’re invited to our next Small Business Resource Reception, which will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 6 p.m., at the Blue Note, 1715 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Broadview.
Come hear and be inspired by Marseil Jackson, who started his first business at 15 years old and has been self-employed ever since.
Jackson, who attracted his first angel investor (a New York lawyer who entrusted the teen with $10,000), is now one of the most dynamic entrepreneurs in Chicago. Earlier this year, Jackson, 29, launched Rental Harvest, what may be the only black-owned reporting service in the nation.
Read more about the new business here. Rental Harvest allows tenants to apply the last two years of their rental payments to their credit histories, a move that can sometimes lead to significant, and sudden, boosts in a person’s credit score.
Jackson will deliberate more on the business on Wednesday. We’ll also unveil the winner of this year’s VFP Small Business of the Month Award. For the last hour, participants will enjoy a night of ConnectWorking, a novel concept pioneered by Kamil Brady, the founder and owner of AKB Events.
Come enjoy food, fun, drinks and great company (and you don’t have to pay anything attention). See you there!
