Demetrius D. Talley, 32, of Maywood (pictured), was traveling south bound at 17th Ave. and Maywood Drive in Maywood on Sept. 2, when he struck the side of a vehicle, according to Maywood Police Lt. Dennis Diaz.

“At around 7 p.m., Maywood police officers responded to a call about a traffic accident with injuries,” Diaz said. “They went to 17th and South Maywood Drive, where they discovered Talley. He was then transported to Loyola University Medical Center.”

Talley was pronounced dead at 7:20 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. He had sustained multiple blunt force traumatic injuries.

Diaz said that no one else was injured in the accident and that the vehicle seemed only to have been damaged on the passenger side door. Diaz said that the victim is not related to Maywood Police Chief Valdimir Talley.  VFP

  1. Sorry to see this happen to this young man. I wish the family my deep condolences. The most scary thing is when death happen on this website, it gives another death that happen last year around the same time. The accidents are serious in Maywood, this accident match up with a accident on 9th roosevelt last year, when a older man died. Pay attention. Stay strong Talley Family.
