Learn about Cook County’s budget on Oct. 12

Experience the sheer bliss of the Pumpkin Patch Parade

Maywood Fine Arts is gearing up for its annual Pumpkin Patch Parade, the marquee fundraising event it hosts each fall. The fundraiser, set to take place on Oct. 14, 9 a.m., at the nonprofit’s base of operations, at the corner of Lake and Main St., will once again feature the main event — a 1.5-mile walk through the community that will start at 11 a.m.

Become a gardener for a day

Join the Maywood Park District to reconstruct their community garden on Saturday, Oct. 14, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 921 S. 9th Ave. (the corner of 9th and Madison St.). Light refreshments will be served. Student community hours are available!

Take the stress off!

The Quinn Community Center, along with Sandra Gates, will host a stress management workshop on Saturday, Oct. 14, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., at St. Eulalia Parish Hall, 1845 S. 9th Ave. in Maywood. For more info, call Gates at (708) 397-6111.

Have fun at McDonald’s

Enjoy a puppet show presented by the Bellwood Public Library on Thursday, Oct. 12, 5:30 p.m., at the Bellwood McDonald’s, 520 25th Ave. in Bellwood. Free coloring books and crayons for the first 50 children!

And don’t forget to experience amazing face painting by Trish Page on Sunday, Oct. 15, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., also at the Bellwood McDonald’s.
