Man Arrested After Leading Bellwood Police on Car Chase After Oct. 7 Shooting

On Oct. 7, Bellwood police arrested a man who allegedly led them on a chase during a shooting investigation, according to a Chicago Sun-Times report. The man eventually crashed on the I-290 Mannheim Road eastbound ramp.

“Officers were called for reports of shots fired about 2 a.m. near Van Buren Street and Rice Avenue in Bellwood, according to Bellwood Police Chief Jiminez Allen,” the Sun-Times reports. “No one was struck by gunfire, but when responding officers arrived at the intersection they saw a car take off.”
