During Ferrara Candy Company’s first-ever “Trunk-or-Treat” event, more than 300 kids received at least 1,000 pounds of donated Ferrara candy brands like Trolli, Lemonhead and Brach’s.
The Oct. 26 event, which takes place at Memorial Park District in Bellwood, featured more than 20 vehicle trunks festooned with Halloween decorations and filled with free candy. Invited guests included members of the Boys and Girls Club of West Cook County.

Last Thursday’s event was part of the company’s annual Halloween celebration. This year, Ferrara also sponsored Brookfield Zoo’s Boo! at the Zoo event, which was coordinated with the help of local park districts in Hillside, Bellwood, Berkeley, Melrose, Stone Park and Northlake. More than 180 people were given free admission to the four-day Boo! at the Zoo event. VFP
