Maywood police are currently investigating the death of a 14-year-old white male who was found unresponsive on Nov. 21 at his home on the 200 block of South 12th Ave. in Maywood.
According to Deputy Chief Elijah Willis, relatives of the young man had tried waking him up, but he was not responding. Emergency medical responders were then called to the home, Willis said.
According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, the boy was pronounced dead at 7:36 a.m. Police didn’t say whether or not the teen was rushed to the hospital. As of Nov. 22, autopsy results were still pending.
An official with District 89 confirmed that the teen, a freshman in high school, graduated from Irving Middle School.
Willis said that no foul play was suspected and that police are currently conducting a routine death investigation. VFP
