A woman and two juveniles were arrested in Bellwood on Nov. 29 by Bellwood Police Department officers in connection with a carjacking that happened earlier that day in Aurora, according to multiple media reports.

Taytianna B. Jones, 19, a 14-year-old boy and a 15- year-old girl were all charged with “aggravated vehicular hijacking, armed robbery, vehicular invasion and possession of a stolen vehicle,” according to the Chicago Sun-Times, which cited the Aurora police.

At around 1:30 a.m., the Sun-Times reports, a Naperville man drove somewhere in Aurora to “meet a female he had been chatting with on the ‘Meet Me’ social media app, police said. She had told him to let her know when he arrived, and when he did that, several males and females approached his car, pulled him from the vehicle and beat and kicked him. At least one person in the group was armed.”

The suspects reportedly took the man’s cell phone, wallet and car keys before chasing him away from the scene. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Officers in the Bellwood Police Department told reporters that they ran the license plate on the vehicle that matched the description of the stolen car at around 2:10 a.m. The officers said that they spotted several people standing around the vehicle near 30th Avenue and St. Charles Road.

According to a Patch report, the Bellwood police detained the people and “replica gun was found in their vehicle.”

After connecting the woman and two juveniles to the carjacking incident, the three were charged by Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office. Jones is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail while the two juveniles were sent to a youth home, according to Patch.
