Two Injured After Shooting In Maywood On Dec. 14

Two people are in critical condition following a shooting that happened on Dec. 14 in Maywood, according to Maywood police.

The incident happened shortly after 8 p.m. on Thursday near the corner of 14th Ave. and Washington Blvd., said Maywood Lt. Dennis Diaz.

“The shooting was between two parties that had a dispute,” Diaz said. “One person was shot in the stomach and another was shot somewhere in the face.”

One of the victims, according to police, may have been a juvenile from Villa Park. The other is Robert Calvin, 25, of Maywood.

Diaz said that there may have been around three shots fired during the exchange. Both victims were taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.

“It appears that they knew each other and got into it over something,” Diaz said, adding that one of had was out of surgery but is not cooperating with police. VFP
