Students in District 89 schools sang, danced, recited poetry and told stories during a series of events this month designed to celebrate the winter holidays.
Community leaders joined students, teachers, faculty and administrators during the festivities.
The district recognized Westlake Hospital for its generosity at a regular board meeting earlier this month. The hospital donated coats and winter gear that were distributed to students throughout the district.

“None of this would have been possible without our community partners: First Midwest Bank, Los Comales, Loyola Stritch School of Medicine, Necahual, and Melrose Park Mayor Ronald M. Serpico,” said district officials in a recent statement.
