Man Who Jumped Into Frozen Des Plaines River While Fleeing Cops Jan. 7 Identified

A man who ran out into a frozen Des Plaines River, near First and Chicago Avenues, while fleeing police in the early morning hours of Jan. 7 has been identified as Tamar Green, 22, according to a Chicago Sun-Times report.

Green had driven away from a traffic stop at around 1 a.m., and jumped off of a bridge and into the Des Plaines River in an attempt to evade the Melrose Park police. Green broke his back, but was taken to Loyola University Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition.
