A Naperville man died from his injuries in a head-on collision that happened at around 3 a.m. on Feb. 25 along Roosevelt Road, between 9th and 10th Avenues near the border of Maywood and Broadview, according to Maywood Fire Chief Craig Bronaugh.
At least six people were injured in the accident and rushed to Loyola University Medical Center, Bronaugh said, adding that speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash. He said that he didn’t know whether or not alcohol or drugs played a role.
Bronaugh said that emergency medical technicians from multiple departments, including Maywood and Broadview, responded to the scene of the crash.
Marlon Moore, 41, of Naperville, was among those rushed to Loyola, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries at around 4:23 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
“With the weather changing, we’re hoping that this won’t be a regular thing,” Bronaugh said. “A significant number of vehicle accidents, and the injuries resulting from them, can be directly related to a vehicle operator driving above the speed limit. People should be extra careful while driving.” VFP
