Fire Captain, Civilian Injured During March 2 Maywood House Fire

A Maywood fire captain and a civilian were injured during a house fire that happened on March 2, at around 7:42 p.m., on the 100 block of South 21st Ave., according to Maywood Fire Chief Craig Bronaugh.

“The house sustained significant damage and we’re currently investigating the origin and cause of the fire,” Bronaugh said.

He said that both the civilian and the fire captain were transported to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood for their injuries. The civilian was in serious condition while the fire captain was in fair condition, he said.
