During a regular meeting on March 5, the Broadview Board of Trustees appointed John Tierney to the trustee seat vacated by Tara Brewer, who died suddenly on Jan. 17.

The board voted 5 to 1 on Tierney’s appointment. Trustee Judy Brown-Marino voted against the appointment while Trustee John Ealey abstained. Tierney was sworn-in at the March 5 meeting.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Tierney retired in 2011 after roughly 30 years with the Broadview Fire Department. He served as its chief from 1995 until retiring. He’s currently a safety consultant. VFP
