Firefighters worked to extinguish a one-alarm fire that broke out at 915 N. 19th Ave. in Melrose Park at around 2:40 p.m. on March 24, according to emergency dispatch records.

Melrose Park fire department officials could not be reached immediately for comment on Saturday afternoon about the cause of the fire or whether anyone was injured.

Witnesses said that the flames could be seen from nearby Maywood. Video footage of the fire was posted to Facebook on Saturday. The footage appears to show the fire originating from a garage in the back of the home.
