Triton Men’s Basketball To Play For First Nat’l Championship In Program History

The Triton College men’s basketball team will play Pima Community College in Tucson, Ariz. for the NJCAA Division II Men’s Basketball National Championship tonight, Saturday, March 24, 7:30 p.m., at Danville Area Community College in Danville.

The national championship, if Triton wins, would be the first in the school’s history, college officials said in a recent statement.

At 32-4, the Trojans landed a No. 1 seed. They earned a place in the championship game after beating Southwestern College 85 to 67 on March 23. All-American candidate Deonta Terrell, out of Farragut High School in Chicago, leads the team with an average of 16.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
