Learn ‘How Money Works’
On Saturday, April 7, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Maywood Multipurpose Building, 200 S. 5th Ave. in Maywood, Maywood Youth Mentoring’s monthly breakfast will feature Herman Walter of Primerica Financial Services. Indulge in spoken word
Starting Saturday, April 7, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the Maywood Public Library, 121 S. 5th Ave. in Maywood, Firebrand Arts, the Maywood Police Department and NOBLE will host slam poetry workshops, which will recur on April 14 and April 21 (same time and place). Learn about property after death
On Saturday, April 7, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Maywood Public Library, 121 S. 5th Ave. in Maywood, Cook County Recorder of Deeds Karen Yarbrough will host a Property After Death Workshop.
Learn how to transfer your home, car and bank account directly to your loved ones without a will, among many other things.

Get hip to property investments
On Saturday, April 7, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Global Business Center, 840 S. 17th Ave. in Maywood, Go Big Accounting will hold its monthly “Money Talks” series. This week, they’ll discuss “Commercial and Residential Real Estate Investments.” Refreshments will be served.
Celebrate National Library Week by getting amnesty on overdue items
From Monday, April 9 until Saturday, April 14, the Maywood Public Library will be celebrating National Library Wek with an Overdue Materials Amnesty. You could return overdue items and have the fees wiped away, no questions asked. The items must belong to Maywood Public Library. The items cannot be damaged, have missing parts, or be lost.
Enjoy some Bingo!
On Wednesday, April 11, at the Maywood Public Library, 121 S. 5th Ave. in Maywood, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., a new Bingo program for adults will start. This program is part of National Library Week, but will continue on Wednesdays as an ongoing library program.
