A search warrant executed by multiple tactical teams on April 9 has resulted in the seizure of ammunition, semi-automatic weapons and hundreds of grams of cannabis, according to a statement released by the Maywood Police Department.
At around 5:39 a.m., law enforcement officials with the Maywood Tactical Unit, assisted by the West Suburban Special Response Team and the Broadview Tactical Unit, executed a search warrant at 1207 S. 17th Ave., Unit B., in Maywood.
Authorities were targeting Jonathan Gilbert, 31, who police say is a “self-admitted and documented Gangster Disciple.”
Officers recovered one 9 mm pistol, one semi-automatic machine gun, one .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle, several rounds of ammunition and 250 grams of cannabis.
Gilbert faces three felony counts of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, police say. He’s set to appear in bond court on April 10. VFP
