According to an ABC 7 report, Maywood Police discovered a car in the village that they said had been stolen from a dealership in a nearby town before it was set on fire.

The report explained that the car, a 2015 Kia Optima, was found at 15th and Railroad in Maywood at around 2 a.m. on June 1.

The car had been reportedly stolen from a Berwyn car dealership two days earlier. The car’s owner had taken it to the dealership to get it washed.

“She said a worker left the keys in the car while waiting to get it washed Wednesday morning,” the ABC 7 report details. Minutes later, “a man wearing a hoodie ran up, hopped in the driver’s seat, put the car in reverse and drove off.”
