Are you a writer? Get feedback from a workshop
On Saturday, July 7, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Maywood Public Library, 121 S. 5th Ave. in Maywood, bring a story, poem, chapter, essay or anything you’ve been working on to a writing group so that participants can workshop ideas together.
Have fun for peace
On Monday, July 9, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the corner of 9th Ave. and Madison St., join Mothers of Murdered Sons as they promote a safe summer with hot dogs, snowballs, cards, jump ropes and more. Donations accepted. Bring a chair.
Senior citizens should RSVP to see ‘Uncle Drew’ for FREE
Maywood will celebrate Maywood Senior Day at the Movies soon by taking area seniors to see the movie “Uncle Drew” for free. Interested seniors should RSVP by July 9 by calling (773) 593-9885.
Get a leg-up on adulthood
On Monday, July 9, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Maywood Public Library, 121 S. 5th Ave. in Maywood, the first session of Adulting 101 will be held. The focus: Build a resume. Tips include obtaining a professional email and learning the importance of online presence. Recommended for ages 15 to 19. For more info, email email@example.com.
Bring your baby to the library
On Tuesday, July 10, 10 a.m., at Bellwood Public Library, 600 Bohland Ave. in Bellwood, bring your babies and toddlers to the library to play with library toys and socialize with other children. Attend a property tax appeal workshop
On Wednesday, July 11, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Proviso Math and Science Academy, 8601 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Forest Park, state Rep. Emanuel “Chris” Welch, Proviso Township Supervisor Michael Corrigan and Proviso Township Assessor Steven Zawasaki will host a Property Tax Appeals Workshop.
