A resale shop designed to benefit a local church will open in Melrose Park this weekend. The Resale Shop, located in the former St. Paul Lutheran school building, at 1025 W. Lake St. in Melrose Park, will host a grand opening on July 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“When Walther Christian Academy closed the Bronco Thrift shop — which was located in Maywood before moving to Berkeley — St. Paul decided to take over providing quality goods and furnishings to the local community at reasonable prices,” representatives with the Resale Shop noted in a press release.
“The theme is ‘Sharing God’s Bounty,’” they wrote. “Proceeds from the shop will support Lutheran missions, schools and projects.”
The Resale Shop will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on every weekday except Wednesday, when it will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Saturday, it will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The shop will accept donations of clean, usable items during business hours. It will not accept large appliances, computer equipment or televisions. Items that will be available in the store include baby toys and clothes, children’s clothes, adult clothes, jewelry, furniture, books, electronic gear and household items.
Pick up of large furniture can be arranged by calling Marlene Mussati, the shop’s manager, at (708) 719-4443. VFP
