During a regular meeting on Sept. 4, the Maywood Board of Trustees unanimously voted to renew the employment agreement for Maywood Village Manager Willie Norfleet, Jr. Trustee Melvin Lightford was absent.
Norfleet, who was hired in 2015, will receive a bump in pay, with his salary going from $140,000 to $150,000.
He’s also eligible for a $15,000 annual performance bonus in 2018 and another performance bonus, not to exceed $15,000, in 2019, according to a memo drafted by village attorney Michael Jurusik. Norfleet’s employment agreement is effective for one year, until April 2019.
The board had reached a consensus on this current agreement during an Aug. 21 closed meeting.
In addition to the bump in salary and the performance bonuses, this new agreement also features an increase in the village match of any contributions made by Norfleet to a deferred-compensation retirement plan. The village match was increased from a maximum of 3 percent of Norfleet’s annual salary to a maximum of 5 percent of his salary. VFP
