Proviso Township High School District 209 officials will host the first town hall meeting of the school year on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 6 p.m., at Proviso Mathematics and Science Academy located at 8601 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Forest Park.
The meeting, which will be facilitated by Supt. Jesse Rodriguez and members of his administration, will focus on several topics, including an “update on the state of the schools and building improvements relative to the Facility Master Plan,” according to a statement the district released earlier this week.
Over the last several weeks, the D209 school board has been honing in on what a final facilities master plan might look like and how much it might cost. The board could vote on a final facilities master plan before the year is out.
“The upcoming Town Hall Meetings are part of our continuous dialogue with community members,” Rodriguez said in the statement. “It is important that our plan reflects your input, concerns, and needs as we structure a plan that ensures the financial sustainability of the district while enhancing programs for children in a fiscally responsive manner.”
Rodriguez said that the facilities master plan process will “addresses academic, infrastructure, site and financial needs of the district.” VFP
