Get informed on property tax appeals
On Wednesday, Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m., at the Village of Bellwood Community Room (2nd floor), 3200 Washington Blvd. in Bellwood, Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Larry R. Rogers, in partnership with Bellwood Mayor Andre Harvey and Proviso Township Assessor Steven Zawaski, will host a Property Tax Appeal Forum. Attend Triton’s kindergarten open house
On Thursday, Nov. 8, 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Triton’s Child Development Center (G Building, room 120), 2000 S. 5th Ave. in River Grove, parents will have the opportunity to meet the teachers and tour the classroom, as well as register their child for the 2019-2020 school year. Children need to be five years of age by Sept. 1, 2019, to be registered for the kindergarten program. Seniors, celebrate Thanksgiving early
On Friday, Nov. 9, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the TH Wade Center, 1309 Madison St. in Maywood, Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin, Rev. Feast with the Bellwood Chamber
On Friday, Nov. 9, 5 p. m. to 7 p.m., at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, 200 S. Mannheim Rd. in Hillside, the Bellwood Chamber of Commerce will honor retired board of directors. The event will also feature a meet-and-greet with the chamber’s new executive director. Food catered by Symone’s Caterings. $10 for chamber members. $20 for friends of the chamber.
Attend a networking breakfast
On Saturday, Nov. 10, 8:30 a.m., at Mt. Moriah MB Church of Christ, 500 Hannah Ave. in Forest Park, the Proviso Township Ministerial Alliance Network (PTMAN) will host its monthly networking breakfast. Breakfast donation: $5. Honor local heroes, support the Missionary Sisters
On Saturday, Nov. 10, 6 p.m., at Village Brunetti Banquets, 9755 W. Grand Ave. in Franklin Park, the Missionary Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo Provincial Guild’s 2018 Annual Dinner Dance will take place. Honorees include Phyllis Wurtz and James and Concetta Cerami. Enjoy a holiday bazaar
On Sunday, Nov. 11, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the OLMC Gym, 22nd and Cortez in Melrose Park, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Altar and Rosary will host the 4th Annual Holiday Bazaar. Join us before or after Mass for a treat in the Bazaar Cafe, shop religious items, purchase homemade bake sale items and visit our crafters to get ready for the holiday season. A special jolly visitor will be with us. Admission Free.
Learn more about public transit, get a reduced-fare card
On Wednesday, Nov. 14, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Maywood Public Library, 121 S. 5th Ave. in Maywood, a representative from RTA will be at the library. Attendees will get resources and those 65 and older may apply for a reduced-fare card. VFP
