According to a preliminary count, around 54 percent of registered voters in Illinois cast a ballot in the Nov. 6 Gubernatorial General Election.
In Proviso Township, according to Cook County Clerk data, the turnout rate was around 55 percent. Here are some precinct-level takeaways from Tuesday’s election. In 2014, the last non-presidential midterm election year, the township’s turnout rate was around 50 percent.
Precinct 10 in Melrose Park and precinct 80 in Stone Park had the two lowest turnout rates in the township.
Precinct 62 in Forest Park had the highest turnout rate in the township. Click here to see a Proviso Township precinct map.
Precincts 30 and 43 in Hillside and Maywood, respectively, were among the strongest Pritzker strongholds, with each giving Rauner fewer than 10 votes.
Rauner only won two precincts in Proviso — 84 and 96, in Westchester and La Grange Park, respectively. Incidentally, precinct 84 was also the only precinct in the township to go for Trump in 2016.
