There’s a lot of festive events going on this week in Proviso Township. Below is just a sampling of the many things available for you and the family: 

Celebrate the holidays Rotary style

On Thursday, Dec. 13, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Meal of the Day Café, 1701 S. 1st Ave. (4th floor, Eisenhower Tower),the Maywood-Proviso Rotary will hold its annual Holiday Party. Cost: $15. Take in a choral concert

On Thursday, Dec. 13, 7 p.m., at Cavanaugh Theater inside of Proviso West High School, 4701 Harrison St. in Hillside, Proviso West High School’s Music Department will host their Winter Holiday Choral Concert.

Experience a Christmas performance

On Friday, Dec. 14, 7 p.m., at West Leyden High School, 1000Wolf Rd. in Northlake, Meca Elementary Christian School student will presenttheir annual Christmas program, “On the Worst Day of Christmas.” Ticket prices:$15/person. Attend the Woods Holiday Drive

RESCHEDULED: On Saturday, Dec. 15, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Maywood Multipurpose Building (gym entrance), 200 S. 5th Ave. in Maywood, Milwaukee Bucks player and Proviso grad Sterling Brown will host The Woods Holiday Drive. Fun. Music.Refreshments. Games. Prizes. 

Enjoy Maywood Fine Arts ’Christmas in a Box

On Saturday, Dec. 15, 4 p.m., at Guerin Prep High School,8001 Belmont Ave. in River Grove, Maywood Fine Arts and Stairway of the Stars will present “Christmas in a Box.” Tickets on sale now at MaywoodFineArts.org.

Take in the ‘Born to Die Christmas Cantata

On Sunday, Dec. 16, 4 p.m., at Second Baptist Church, 436 S.13th Ave. in Maywood, choral members will perform the Born to Die Christmas Cantata. The Cantata was written by Glenn Edward Burleigh.

You’re a senior? Celebrate the holidays in style

On Wednesday, Dec. 19, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Mariella’s Banquet Hall, 124 S. 5th Ave. in Maywood, the Maywood Senior Club will host the 11th Annual Seniors Christmas Party. The event will feature a full buffet dinner, gifts for all seniors and entertainment.
