No Injuries Reported In Early Morning Christmas Fire In Maywood

No one was injured in a fire that broke out in an abandoned house in Maywood early Christmas morning, according to Maywood Fire Chief Craig Bronaugh.

Firefighters responded to the fire, which happened on the 1500 block of South Second Avenue, at around 3:23 a.m. Tuesday.

“When firefighters arrived, they discovered a two-story abandoned house involved in a heavy fire throughout the structure,” Bronaugh said. “It took fire personnel just under 90 minutes to bring the fire under control.”

Bronaugh said that the fire is currently under investigation. VFP
