Maywood To Start Taking Police Applications Jan. 9

The village of Maywood’s Board of Fire and Police Commissioners will start accepting applications for entry level police officers on Jan. 9.

The applications, which cost $35 each, will be available on that date online at: jobsource.copsandfiretesting.com. They’ll be available for purchase up until 2 p.m. on March 6. The applications are due by 4 p.m. on March 6.

The board is also currently offering opportunities for test preparation and study sessions on Jan. 26, Feb. 9 and Feb. 23. The total cost for all three sessions is $30.

Applicants must attend the mandatory orientation and test on March 23, 8:30 a.m., at Irving Middle School, 805 S. 17th Ave. in Maywood.

Starting salary for entry level officer positions is $42,140. Candidates must resident within a 15-mile radius of Maywood’s boundaries within one year of being hired; have proof of a high school diploma, GED or high school proficiency statement; have attained their 21st birthday by March 6; possess a valid driver’s license at the time of application; and be a U.S. citizen, among other requirements.
