On Saturday, March 16, 12 p.m.to 2 p.m., lawmakers from five different levels of government will converge at Irving Middle School, 805 S. 17th Ave. in Maywood.
The legislators include U.S. Rep. Danny K. Davis (7th), state Sen. Kimberly Lightford (4th), state Rep. Emanuel “Chris” Welch, Cook County Clerk Karen Yarbrough and Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson (1st).
The event, which is hosted by the Young Democrats of Proviso and Proviso Youth Mentoring, will highlight various areas of discussion including: Community economic development, education and programming, and youth empowerment.
