According to a report in the trade publication RE Journals, an industrial building at 2100 N. 15th Ave. in Melrose Park is in the process of being razed and replaced with a “new 12.5-acre overnight truck parking facility.”
The new development is the work of the Missner Group, a real estate developer, and the Timber Hill Group, a private equity firm that focuses particularly on “the rise of e-commerce the increasing demand for last mile distribution,” according to its website.
The Missner Group plans on demolishing the 300,000-square-foot “dilapidated, multi-tenant industrial building” that was built in 1978, according to Loopnet, in order to build the truck parking facility, which will feature “a modern, gate-secured, fully lighted monthly parking facility for 285 tractor-trailers,” RE reports.
The publication added that “construction is underway and the development is set to be complete by summer 2019.”
