No one was injured after a Maywood house fire broke out earlier this week. The fire happened in the 200 block of South 8th Avenue, at around 11:02 p.m. on March 25, said Maywood Fire Chief Craig Bronaugh.

“The fire started by accident,” the chief said during an interview on March 29. “It started on the top-floor bedroom. A heater had gotten too close to combustable material.”

Although no injuries were reported, a family of three adults and two children have been displaced as a result of the fire, Bronaugh said. VFP
