Less than six months after announcing plans to merge with Palos Health in Palos Health, Ill., Loyola Medicine in Maywood announced that they don’t plan on merging, after all.
The two entities announced on May 1 that they had ended merger talks, but did not provide any reasons for why discussions ended.
According to a report by Becker’s Hospital Review, they “did note that existing partnerships between the organizations will continue.
“Loyola and Palos established an academic clinical affiliation in 2015, and they collaborate in several areas, including a telestroke program and jointly owned ambulatory surgery and radiation oncology centers.”
Modern Healthcare reported that the partnership “enhanced clinical services at 425-bed Palos Community Hospital and its affiliate organizations while enabling the system to remain independent.” VFP
