Officials from the Proviso Township assessor’s office will be on hand to help residents understand the process of appealing the assessed value of their homes. The property value as assessed determines the amount owed on the tax bill, and residents can oftentimes receive a lower assessment upon appeal, leading to a lower tax bill.
