A fatal crash that happened on the Dan Ryan on July 26 resulted in the death of a Maywood woman, according to state law enforcement officials, the Cook County medical examiner’s office and multiple news reports.
According to the Illinois State police, at around 1 p.m. on Friday, “state troopers responded to calls of a vehicle crash on I-94 near 71st street,” the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
“After an investigation officers found that a silver Chevrolet was driving northbound when the driver veered left off of the road and crashed into a concrete median barrier.”
The driver, Yaminah Jackson, 25, lived in Maywood, according to the medical examiner’s office. Both she and her passenger, Christal Marshall, 22, of Waukegan, “were rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries, police said.”
According to a Chicago Tribune report, Jackson “went into cardiac arrest” at the hospital. She died at 2:25 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
“Marshall has had her condition stabilized but remains in serious condition, police said,” the Sun-Times reported. VFP
