During a hearing on Tuesday, a judge found Pipeline Health, the owners of Westlake Hospital, in contempt of court after they apparently violated a previous court order that prohibited them from closing the Melrose Park hospital before the state made a decision on the company’s hospital closure application.

A Maywood man has filed a federal complaint against several villages and police officers — including Broadview and Maywood — alleging that police used excessive force to maliciously arrest and charge him about two years ago.
