Theft of Trees, Flowers, Plants Reported at Maywood Park District

A string of thefts have been reported by Maywood Park District officials. According to district officials, a large tree that was planted several weeks ago went missing last week. Dawn Williams-Rone, the park district commission president, said she noticed the missing tree on the morning of Oct. 12.

Motorcyclist Killed in Bellwood Oct. 8 After Colliding With Pace Bus

Maywood Starts Demolition of a Dozen Hazardous Properties

Loyola to Acquire Berwyn Hospital as Part of Expansion Effort

Maywood-based Loyola Medicine has agreed to acquire MacNeal Hospital — a century-old, 368-bed community medical center based in Berwyn — along with its affiliate operations, from Tenet Healthcare Corporation, which is an international for-profit healthcare services company based in Dallas, Texas.

On Oct. 8, firefighters from Maywood and surrounding communities responded to a structure fire at a house on the 1800 block of S. 21st Ave. in Maywood. Fire departments received reports of the fire at around 6:37 p.m. on Sunday.
