Remodeled Broadview Aldi to Reopen on Sept. 13, Now Hiring

The Broadview Aldi, located at 1001 Cermak Rd., will open its doors for the first time on Wednesday since undergoing extensive renovations.

The store renovations are part of Aldi’s national plan to invest $1.6 billion in improving and expanding more than 1,300 stores in the United States within three years. Roughly $180 million of that national investment will go into 130 stores in the Chicago area.

According to an Aug. 14 Patch report, “Sheet Metal Workers Local 73 is accepting applications for its apprentice training program every Wednesday from from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Oct. 4. Applications can be downloaded from Local 73’s website and dropped off during the above times at the Sheet Metal Workers Local 73 Training Center at 2701 Van Buren St., Bellwood, IL.”

Maywood Seeking Grant Administrator, Apply By Aug. 4

The village of Maywood is looking to secure a grant administrator “to assist the Village [sic] in researching and identifying potential grants and providing general grant writing services associated with the completion and submission of grant applications, program administration and delivery,” according to a request for proposal available on the village’s website.

Earlier this year, the village budgeted $60,000 for the position of grant administrator, which would entail a contract of two years. The village will be accepting proposals until 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4.

“All proposals must be submitted [to the village clerk’s office] in a sealed envelope and have original signature and date,” according to the village’s RFP. To access the RFP, click here. VFP
