On Nov. 18, the nonprofit Best of Proviso Township, along with many local co-sponsors, hosted a free screening of the The Hate U Give — a movie about a police-involved shooting based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Angie Thomas.

Bellwood Police To Crack Down On Drunk, Unbuckled Drivers Starting June 25

The Bellwood Police Department recently announced its plans to crackdown on drunk and unbuckled drivers before and after the Fourth of July holiday. The crackdown will run from June 25 through July 8. So far, it isn’t known whether any other departments in the area have joined the effort.

Area Police Officers Host ‘Torch Run’ To Raise Money For Special Olympics

On Saturday, police officers from Bellwood, Broadview, Maywood, Forest Park and Westchester ran more than four miles in the rain — from the Westchester Police Department in Westchester to Constitution Court in Forest Park — for a good cause.
