Broadview Board Approves Work On Braga Drive, Alleys

During a meeting on April 22, Broadview’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve ordinances that will allow the village to use state and federal funds, and a portion of its own motor fuel tax revenue, to install three “green alleys” near Roosevelt Road and to refurbish a portion of the Braga Drive corridor.

Officials with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, the village of Bellwood, Cook County and other government bodies and agencies gathered on April 24 for a groundbreaking ceremony on the site of the future Addison Creek Reservoir at 2795 Washington Blvd. in Bellwood.

Construction on a long-anticipated reservoir north of Washington Boulevard, near Addison Creek, in Bellwood, could start within the next several weeks, according to Bellwood Mayor Andre Harvey.
