The Maywood Board of Trustees recently signed off on a significant tax break for one of the village’s oldest businesses even as the village manager warned that the measure could lead to higher taxes for other property owners in town.

During a Jan. 16 regular meeting, the Maywood Board of Trustees unanimously approved a series of zoning changes that were necessary in order for National Cycle Inc., located at 2200 S. Maywood Drive, in Maywood, to expand its manufacturing operations by building a roughly 28,000-square-foot building on village-owned land nearby.
