Well, it’s official. Anthony Clark, the outspoken Oak Park and River Forest High School teacher and founder of the nonprofit social justice organization Suburban Unity Alliance, is running for Congress again.

Proviso Township officially gained a new congressman on Nov. 6 after voters overwhelmingly chose Jesus “Chuy” Garcia to represent the 4th District, which includes part of Melrose Park, in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Fritz Kaegi, a candidate running in the March 20 Democratic Primary for Cook County Assessor, was in Maywood on March 4 for a press conference held at Kathy’s Cafe, 1008 S. 17th Ave. — just across the street from the headquarters of the Proviso Township Democratic Organization.
