The Cook County Land Bank Authority, an agency created in 2013 to help attract developers to tax-delinquent properties, announced on Nov. 26 that it’s giving away a move-in ready, fully rehabbed home in Maywood to the winner of the authority’s Home Giveaway Lottery.

Two homes in Maywood are up for sale through a new initiative, called the Homebuyer Direct Program, launched by the Cook County Land Bank Authority this fall. The program has made available between 30 and 40 fixer-upper houses at below-market prices in certain areas of Cook County. The homes range between $50,000 and $170,000.
