Several organizations in Maywood have planned Halloween events, with the proceeds of a few going to good causes. A selection of events is listed below:
FRIDAY, OCT. 30, 2015
Don’t Be Scared Annual Halloween Party || 4 PM to 7 PM || Maywood Multipurpose Building, 200 S. 5th Ave., Maywood
This event, sponsored by New World Ryderz, features interactive games for kids, candy bags, prizes, hot dogs, chips and drinks for people of all ages.
SATURDAY, OCT. 31, 2015
Maywood Park District Halloween Party || 1 PM to 3:30 PM || Maywood Park District Recreational Center, 921 S. 9th Ave., Maywood
The Maywood Park District will be hosting a Halloween party featuring activities, food, candy and more.
Gift of Love Coat with a Treat Event || 4 PM to 9 PM || Quinn Community Center, 1832 S. 8th Ave., Maywood
This event, sponsored by the Gift of Love organization, is to ensure that our children be in a safe environment on Halloween and have the, at most possible fun, healthy food, candy, and games along with one of the sweetest gifts of all, every child that needs a coat will receive a coat with candy in the pockets, to keep them warm this winter. 18th Annual Maywood/Proviso Rotary Club Auction || 6 PM to 9 PM || Eisenhower Tower, 9th Floor, 1701 S. 1st Ave., Maywood
This event raises money for Rotary’s various community initiatives (such as its annual dictionary give-away to all third-graders in Maywood and Melrose Park schools, and its monetary donations to a range of nonprofits). It’s also a heck of a good time, with catering provided by Maywood-based Meal of the Day Cafe and an auction of everything from health club memberships to restaurant meals. Tickets are $40.
