Aaron Canino, 28, said that he was inspired to start drawing architectural landscapes while a student in Mr. Jenkins’s art class at Proviso West. He’s been drawing with a passion ever since — from iconic New York cityscapes to local landmarks to buildings that are material only in Canino’s imagination.

Byran Stewart, Maywood’s first African American treasurer and a pioneering financial administrator who has served a range of roles across state government, was recently presented the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
